Busy, Busy, Busy!

Been busy -and happy- lately! To start out, I recently discovered a passion for nails, weird right? I've always had a creative side and I love when I get to express that. Combine that with the fact that there's so many different things you can do with nails ,all the colors, rhinestones, designs, exc, and I just love it. And like everything that I enjoy doing, I just can't seem to enjoy it in moderation! Haha, for example, last weekend, I went to Walgreens and bought myself 28 bottles of nail polish. In my defense, they were only 99 cents each, which is an awesome sale. Plus, I got most of the colors that I've been wanting and it will give me something to do when I'm bored. Dustin also bought me a nail stamping kit which I use almost everyday. It has all these designs that you can stamp onto your nails;such as, flowers, zebra print, butterflies, and various girly things.

Anyway, I could go on and on about nail polish and will probably annoy the Hell out of my friends on facebook with my over-excitement over my nail designs. They're messy but I'm definitely getting better at it. Growing up a Tomboy, give me a break :) On Sunday night, Dustin and I went out to Buffalo Wild Wings with Taylor and Greg. I barely ever drink. The last time I ever drank was on New Years Eve. I had two drinks, an apple martini and a red bull/vodka, and the room was spinning. Sad, I know. I can't even enjoy two drinks without feeling drunk. I didn't like it. I don't get why people enjoy getting drunk so much, I guess maybe they're bored? Or maybe they get a different effect, Idk. Haha. We went fishing last night after Dustin got off work, at the Keystone Dam. The water was WAY down, so Dustin walked down to the rocks to fish. Not long after, the sirens went off telling us that the water was about to be let out. So, Dustin had to hurry and get up to where the water wouldn't be going. Well, as he was coming up, he tripped on the mossy rock and fell on his side into the water. While I watched helplessly not knowing how to help him, because he had to jump down 5 feet of rocks to even get down there, and I'm clumsy. It felt like minutes passed before I realized he was okay, but in reality it was probably only a few seconds. My poor baby :( He wasn't hurt bad though, just ended up hurting later on. We caught quite a few white bass and I caught a 14 inch crappie. Which, if you're not very familiar with fishing, is a pretty good catch. I didn't stop smiling until we got home. 

Nail polish and fish in the same post, weird, I know. I have two sides to me; the super girly side, and the super tomboy side. I'd say they're both pretty split down the middle. Nothing makes me any happier than having my hair looking perfect (rarely), jewelry, clothes, or makeup. But on the same token, nothing makes me happier than going fishing, hunting, mudding, and hiking. There's ups and downs to both sides, and although some people tell me I can't be both, obviously I can! Here are some of my nail creations. Some are very messy because I'm not great yet, plus some black polish stained my cuticles and I couldn't get it off for days.

~Fishing Weekend~

Dustin's back and head has been hurting him recently. He had to miss two days of work this past week because of them :( he's always had bad headaches frequently and they don't know why. He's even had to have a spinal tap. I pray it's nothing bad!    Saturday morning, we went fishing at the Keystone Dam again. We got there real early in the morning. It didn't take long before we were both catching them. We eventually ended up moving down the damn and we caught even more crappie on down. We caught one almost every cast. We threw a lot of them back because they were small but we still ended up getting a good amount. I love getting into crappie, they are probably my favorite fish to fish for! They may be tied with bass and catfish but it's hard to choose between those 3! lol. After we got home, Dustin hadn't slept so we cleaned the fish and took a nap. When we woke up, we cooked us some hamburgers and fish. I don't normally like fish at all. I wasn't raised eating fish because my Dad isn't a huge fan and my Mom just thinks it's disgusting. lol! So I grew up kind of thinking it was gross, plus I hated the smell. But, I absolutely loved the crappie! I don't know if it was the way we cooked it or what but it was delicious. I ate more than my serving :) We ate our fish while we watched Duck Dynasty, a show about the Robertson family in Louisiana who own the company called Duck Commander. We've been a fan of their products and we watch their dvds, so they made for a pretty good show. The show doesn't show much duck hunting but it's  still really funny. That night, there were supposed to be some really bad storms so we stayed home. The storms didn't happen until 6 in the morning, but we didn't know when they were coming, so I barely got any sleep that night. There ended up being a tornado warning in Skiatook and a small tornado, but Owasso escaped the bad parts of the storms. We had a plan to go to my Papa's if it got too bad. We had a scare though when Dustin went to WalMart to get some fishing line, thinking the storms wouldn't be here anytime soon, and while he was gone the tornado warning. I just wanted him to get back home and he didn't take his cell phone so I could tell him, so it was kind of scary. He got home pretty fast before I freaked out though :) We watched the weather until we were sure it was okay and then he played on the computer while I slept. He woke me up around 10 am and told me to get ready so we can go fishing. So, I got ready and we went to the Keystone Dam. We were thinking it might be good since we had just gotten a bunch of rain, but we were wrong. It ended up getting really crowded and we didn't catch much, so we left around 4. We went back to Owasso and took Blake fishing at the park. We also took Harley and Gunner.They all had fun. Blake caught one bullhead catfish before he wanted to go do something else. He played on the playground and was his silly self, dancing around and just being silly. We played fetch with the dogs and stayed until it started getting dark. We took Blake back to my parent's house and Dustin helped my Dad move his old ottoman out and his new coffee table in. They got new Italian leather couches that are beautiful and I'm jealous! ;) We visited for some time before we went home because Dustin was really tired from not sleeping much the night before. We went home and I made Dustin pb&js and we watched t.v. and tried to stay awake for as long as we could, but it didn't last long.  So we went to bed and that was the end of our weekend:) I'm excited for Tuesday to get here because I should be getting the clothes I ordered!

Easter Weekend

On Good Friday, Dustin was off work and he slept in. I worked outside and weed-eated the yard. It took me a few hours but it looked way better afterward. When Dustin woke up, we watched t.v. together and went and got something to eat and enjoyed the night inside. On Saturday, we went to a barbecue restaurant next to Bass Pro. It was pretty good. I got a bologna sandwich, Dustin got ribs, and we shared some fries. The sandwich wasn't the best, but Dustin's ribs were really good and the french fries were awesome. After that, we went to Bass Pro to get Dustin a surf rod. We got that plus some more fishing stuff. Once we got back into Owasso, we went to WalMart to look for him a reel to go with his rod. We didn't find a good rod but we got some other stuff we needed. We talked about how we wanted to go bowling sometime. We also want to try Dave and Buster's and go to the zoo sometime, just some possible date ideas. I'm writing this over a week later so I know that a lot more happened than I remember. lol. It was a good night though :) The next day was Easter and we were going to go to church to watch my Uncle Rick preach but we never found out when he was preaching, so we didn't go. Early the next Monday, we went to the Keystone Dam. It was our first time going fishing there together. We went to Woody's Bait and Tackle first which is our new go to spot for river weights and minnows if we're fishing nearby. We caught some crappie, white bass, and Dustin caught a large-mouth, but not enough to keep. We left around ten because Dustin had to go to work that day.

~Family Get-Together~

On Friday, March 27th, I didn't really have anything to do that day, and I woke up early. Dustin had to sleep until 3pm since he works nights, so I decided to go to my parent's house and let Petey play with my parent's dogs. When I got there, I found out my Mom didn't have to work that day, so she and Blake were there. My Mom and I watched t.v. together for awhile while I went through the pictures on my phone,  emailing myself all the ones that I want on my computer. That took awhile! I woke Blake up around ten and played with him for awhile. Later on, Brady and Amy told my Mom they were coming over. I was bored and felt like getting fixed up, so I fixed my hair and makeup. That's something I used to do all the time but not much anymore because it's so hot in my house that doing anything is a hassle. And, by the time you blow dry your hair and straighten it, you're sweating too much to even look good. Anyway, it felt good to have my hair and makeup fixed, and I wore my new pink Duck's Unlimited shirt, which I love. Brady, Amy, and the kids came over. My Mom bought Jayson a new toy that he was really excited about. It had to be put together though so they waited until they got it to their house. They didn't stay very long and before long, I had to get back to wake Dustin up for work and give him the car. Before I left, my Mom made pizza with whole wheat crust and vegan 'meat'. It was actually very good! I was surprised. I don't want to be a vegan but it would be a good way to cut back on eating red meat. I went and woke Dustin up, made him lunch of grilled cheese, and he left for work. When he got home from work, we relaxed. Then when the sun rose, we went fishing in the backyard. I caught a small catfish. Maverick went swimming, he wouldn't stay out of the water, silly boy! Harley got in big trouble, he's been acting weird towards Maverick, who used to be his best friend! That afternoon, my Papa threw a birthday party for my Great Grandma May who turned 82. She and my Grandpa Henry live in Las Vegas, so it had been a long time since I saw them. I saw Henry about two years ago when he came to Bartlesville, but I hadn't saw May since July 12th, 2008. I remember that it was that day because I remember that day we had a barbecue at my Papa's, and that night was the night that I went out on my first date with Dustin :) My Grandparents lived in Bartlesville most of my life, but moved to Las Vegas a few years ago when my Grandpa broke his hip and my Grandma got diagnosed with Alzheimers :( She remembers him but she doesn't remember anyone else most of the time. It's such a sad disease, but at least she remembers the love of her life. She doesn't remember having any kids, but she understands that we are her family and she believes us when we tell her we are her Grandkids, which is something to be really thankful for! It was really sweet seeing them, they are a very sweet and loving couple. They have been together around 60 years, I think even longer actually. They are a couple worthy of the highest praise and is what true love is about. The barbecue was very nice, I got to meet and hold my cousin Ellie for the first time, she is a very sweet and beautiful baby. She didn't cry the whole time anyone was holding her. She has a head full of dark hair and bright blue eyes, lucky girl! When Blake arrived at the barbecue, he seemed like he was in a bad mood, so I picked him up and spun him around and told him he better get in a better mood. He did :) but he was annoyed that I interrupted his spider chasing. I used to case and catch spiders when I was young, I wonder where he gets that from! Jayson and Claire had a really fun time playing on the play set my Papa built a few years ago. I saw some other people that I hadn't saw in a long time, like Yvonne Sita and her kids, which were nice. Because I used to babysit them. They are sweet kids. I had a good time and it was really nice seeing everyone. I left around 5 and went straight home, where Dustin was still sleeping. He was worn out from the week. He woke up for a little bit because Bailey was playing softball on t.v. and he wanted to watch (Go Bailey!) They were down by two in the last inning and a girl hit a grandslam and Missou won! :) I went to bed not long after and woke up early the next morning. That Sunday was nothing special, Dustin went and helped Anthony get some stuff out of storage, and we relaxed.

~Camping~

Once again, I've been too busy to update, but that's a good thing :) On Friday, March 23rd, Dustin's back was hurting really really bad because of his pulled muscle ( actually, he needs to go to the Doctor!) so, he stayed home from work. He wanted to sleep and I was already up, and didn't want to wake him. So I went to my parent's house. My Dad showed up not long after and I gave him money for our car payment and we worked on his boat. He said Harley is 'too pretty' to be a boy dog. Lol! After my Mom got home, I visited a little bit and then got hungry. So I left and picked us up something to eat and maybe a little Starbucks :) I went home and woke Dustin up, ate, and we watched Jackass 3. We just watched t.v. for a few hours which we rarely get the chance to do. It was nice :) We didn't go to bed till late. On Saturday, we slept in, then Dustin and I went out to eat at Mexico Lindo and as always, it was delicious. After eating, we went home and let our food settle for awhile and then went to WalMart to get things we needed, stuff for camping, plus about 40 dollars worth of unneeded dog toys-oops! :) We love them little boogers! When we got home, we relaxed and a little while later, got ready to leave to go fishing. We weren't sure if there would be any campsites open, but there were! :) We got a beautiful campsite at Redbud Bay RV site at Oologah Lake. The lady running it is really nice and it's definitely a camping spot that I hope to visit again sometime. It was just sunrise when we arrived so we went to the baitshop nearby ,bought some minnoes, and fished off the rocky shoreline.  We were so close to the water that we were only about ten feet from our tent when we were fishing. The dogs were really enjoying themselves, Harley impressed me when I took him off his leash and he didn't run away, he stayed close by. I took lots of pictures! We didn't hardly catch anything, but we had a really good time. I napped during the day which was hot but bearable because I was so sleepy from staying up the night before. While I was sleeping, Dustin went and bought us some stuff to cook. When he got back, we cooked brats and pork chops. They were awesome. I love how well my man can cook! We basically just relaxed and fished all day, and later on, we made hamburgers with bacon. When it got darker, I went to get more minnoes while Dustin made the fire. When I got back, we ate smores and went fishing some more. Then, around 10, we bought went to bed and layed and talked for awhile and snuggled :) We woke up around 5 in the morning, talked awhile in the tent, and then decided to go sit by a fire until sunrise. Around 6 am, we started to pack things up. I didn't want to leave because I wanted to fish, but we had to because I had a doctor's appointment for my arm and Dustin needed to get in another good nap before he went to work. It was a beautiful sunrise and overall, a great way to spend the weekend. When we got home, I got ready and then went to my appointment. My arm is fine now. Afterwards, I returned some stuff at JCPenney and got a purse I had been wanting. After that, I got starbucks :) and  went to visit my parents. I asked them if they wanted to go see The Hunger Games with me and they did. It was awhile until the next showing so I hung around their house for awhile. When Blake saw me arive, he got a big smile on his face and ran up to me and gave me a big hug. I really love that kid. He didn't want to go to school but today was picture day and he didn't want to wear a blue shirt, he wanted to wear a red one! Lol, little butthead. Not long after, we went to see the movie. I really liked it, I think they did a really good job with casting and everything. I can't wait to see it again. When I got home, Dustin was getting ready for work and nothing else special happened that day, just did stuff around the house and went to bed early.
